How We Can Help Tenants with Landlord Issues

Our Support is Free

If you’re struggling with your landlord, it can feel overwhelming. At Tenants First CIC, our support is completely free to tenants. We never charge you, and we don’t work for solicitors. Our only focus is helping you get the right outcome.

Beyond Disrepair

Housing issues aren’t always just about damp, mould, or repairs. Many tenants face other challenges that can affect their home and wellbeing. We act as an independent, trusted bridge between tenants and landlords — helping to resolve issues fairly before they escalate.

Issues We Can Help With

Rent Arrears – we can help you speak to your landlord, explore repayment plans, and signpost you to debt or money advice services.

Overcrowding – if your home is too small for your family, we can raise this with your landlord and push for solutions.

Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) – we make sure your concerns are logged, investigated, and acted on.

Repairs and Maintenance – from broken heating to unsafe electrics, we help ensure problems are raised properly and followed up.

Other Housing Concerns – whatever the issue, we’ll support you or connect you with the right service.

How It Works

Contact Us – tell us what’s happening.

Independent Support – we’ll listen, record the details, and help you frame your concerns clearly.

We Speak to Your Landlord – we raise the issue directly and push for a fair solution.

Resolution or Next Steps – most cases can be resolved quickly. If not, we’ll explain your rights and, if needed, recommend ethical, regulated solicitors (we receive no payment from them).

Community Events & Grants

We don’t just help with housing issues. Tenants First CIC is committed to building stronger communities.

We are developing community events to bring tenants together, share knowledge, and build confidence.

We are also working on future grant schemes that will reinvest into tenants and neighbourhoods, such as:

Hardship support (energy, food, school uniforms)

Healthy homes items (dehumidifiers, cleaning kits, small repairs)

Community wellbeing projects (gardens, youth groups, resident initiatives)

Skills & training support (courses, workshops, and employment support)

Why Tenants First CIC?

Independent – we’re not part of your landlord and not tied to solicitors.

Free to Tenants – our service is free for you.

Not-for-Profit – everything we do is about supporting tenants and communities.

Trusted by Both Sides – tenants know we’re on their side, and landlords know our evidence is fair.

Early Resolution – we aim to fix problems before they become legal cases, saving stress for tenants and costs for landlords.

If you’re a tenant facing rent arrears, overcrowding, ASB, or any other housing issue. Our help is free, independent, and focused on getting you the support you need.
